Swimming and diving have been added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the new July update and there’s a bunch of shiny new Sea Creatures to find for Blathers.
Not content with collecting art, fossils, bugs and fish, Blathers will now accept all kinds of Sea Creatures throughout July. You can trade Scallops for new Mermaid recipes from Pascal, or you can choose to donate a few to old Blathers.
There are quite a few Sea Creatures to find, but before you can collect them, you’ll need to get a wetsuit so you can swim and dive underwater. After that, feel free to just keep swimming and keep your eye out for silhouettes of the creatures.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Where to find every Sea Creature
To get into the water and find Sea Creatures, you’ll need a wetsuit, which you can pick up from Nook’s Cranny or Nook Shopping for 3000 Bells or Nook Miles. You should also receive a snorkelling mask in the mail, but that’s more for the aesthetic.
After that, you can head to the rocks near the ocean and press A to jump in. You can also walk in off the beach, though running and jumping off rocks or the pier is much more satisfying. Keep pressing A to swim around and press Y to dive if you see a shadow or some bubbles coming out of the water. Press A when you’re near the shadow to catch the critter.
The creatures are likely only available during July, though we may see them again or entirely new creatures in the August summer update. New Leaf had around 30 or so Sea Creatures, so we’ll be updating this list as we find them.
