Nintendo Switch is back in stock at GameStop – and more is expected soon

Finding any Nintendo Switch stock in the US has been an almighty challenge over the last couple of months. Good news, then! GameStop has started taking orders for a pair of jam-packed Nintendo Switch bundles in both Neon and Grey.

Rather ridiculously dubbed the Nintendo Switch Gamer Bundle, these include a Nintendo Switch console, Animal Crossing New Horizons, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Minecraft and a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller for $500.

That price may – very rightly – make you reel back in fear, but this seems to be GameStop’s way of controlling how quickly the stock goes again. If they had just listed the console by itself for the usual $300, you can bet there would be scalpers and resellers all over it before legitimate buyers would get a chance.

So, you have to pay a premium, then, but at least these bundles come with some of the best games for Nintendo Switch and the excellent Pro Controller.

Even with the hefty price, we can’t be sure exactly how long this Nintendo Switch stock will last at the retailer. It seems unlikely it’ll sell out in minutes, but demand has been high for a while now in the US. If you’ve been desperately seeking one for a while now, you might want to grab it while you can.

That said, Nintendo has apparently got back to pre-COVID production levels just recently, according to a statement from a representative to CareerConnection. That means we could start seeing Nintendo Switch stock more widely available at all the other usual retailers. Perhaps one of them will just be selling the console on its own or pairing it just a single game to keep the price more reasonable.

Sticking with GameStop for a sec, you might also be interested in checking out their current flash sale. In it, you can save 50 per cent off any pre-owned game when you buy a new game of $29.99 or more. It works great as you can get something like the Final Fantasy 7 Remake for $27.49 as part of the deal. Do have a browse to see what you can find.

There have been Nintendo Switch stock issues since the end of 2019. It was a massively popular item over Black Friday and Christmas, and Nintendo has struggled to keep up with demand in early 2020. It’s something that was only exacerbated further by the COVID-19 pandemic, as supply chains were disrupted and people were looking for more home entertainment.
